Resources for the Education of Adults in the Chicago Area (REACh) is a not-for-profit consortium of educational, civic, and corporate organizations.  REACh was organized as a collaborative effort to provide adults easier access to information about educational and financial aid opportunities.  Our members include academic institutions representing technical, vocational, undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, financial institutions, and civic minded corporations.  The association was formally incorporated in 1988 and has grown to include approximately 50 member institutions throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area.

Mission statement:

REACh is a consortium of academic institutions, businesses, and other interested organizations and individuals whose mission is to present educational opportunities to adult learners in the Chicago metropolitan area.  Central to the mission is a commitment to provide them with information and accessibility to educational and financial resources. As a result, adult learners will enhance their personal growth, increase their career potential to themselves and their employers, and emerge as enlightened members of a global community.

Continuing education is necessary to compete in today's global marketplace.  Consider these facts:

  • The adult learner population is the most rapidly growing segment among college populations
  • Nearly 50 percent of all college students are over the age of 25 years
  • The average adult will change careers seven to 10 times during their lifetime.  These changes will require new skills, knowledge, and values. Education can help bridge the gap in meeting these continuously changing competencies.
  • Productivity increases when employers support continuing educational opportunities for their employees

Services:

Central to REACh's mission is a commitment to provide adult learners with information and accessibility to educational and financial resources.  As a result, adult learners will enhance their personal growth, increase their career potential to themselves and their employers and emerge as enlightened members of a global community.  Our services include:

  • Access to multiple institutions in one convenient location
  • Assistance in arranging educational events
